Abstract

Currently, the speed of biodiversity loss is ignificant. Habitat modification and the establishment of iinvasive non-native species are two important causes of this loss. Non-native species are widespread throughout South America, however, the status and distribution of some of them is still unclear (with the exception of mollusks). The information of our study presents five points of view on non-native/invasive species, collaborates in identifying susceptible areas to invasion of non-native species in South America and helps local and regional management and decision-making on the species already detected.
